Victor Chang Medal 2019
The Victor Chang School Science Awards were
developed to foster and encourage an interest in
science among secondary school students, with the aim
of promoting careers in science as a viable and...
interesting career path. Named after the late cardiac
surgeon and pioneer of modern heart transplantation,
the Victor Chang School Science Awards were
established to celebrate young, gifted students, and to
stimulate growth in science, technology, engineering
and mathematics (STEM) subject areas.
Jake Goggi of Year 11 was nominated by his teachers
this year to recognise his amazing dedication towards
Science as he is currently studying Biology, Chemistry
and Physics- demonstrating exceptional results across
all 3 fields. He is a dedicated student who has a passion
for the medical field and is wanting to pursue tertiary
studies in Medicine. Jake is a keen learner and displays
the skills needed for the 21st century such as creativity
and critical thinking which would advantage his pursuit
in an ever changing career.
The awards night was attended by Jake and his family,
along with his very proud teacher Ms Maynard.

your studies!
