Cancelled Student Learning Conferences (SLCs)

In light of the extension to lockdown and online learning, we have unfortunately cancelled the Student Learning Conferences (SLCs) that were going to be conducted Week 3 and 4 this term.

The Teaching and Learning team have been working to create some resources that can allow you to conduct an ‘At home mini SLC’ between you and your child if you wish. Traditionally, these conferences provide the opportunity for students to unpack their report, have a rich conversation about their learning with a teacher and their parent or carer and also allow students to set learning goals to potentially see improvement in their education and future outside of school.

If your child is in Year 7, they are going to be given the ‘At home mini SLC’ to complete with teacher assistance on Monday during our normal 4See class time. This will be posted to the Google classroom and teachers will be available to assist them on Monday from 11:15am to 1:15pm. In light of this we are asking that students locate their Semester 1 report ready for Monday’s class if they are joining us on the Google classroom. If they do not have a copy of their report, there is a post on the Google classroom where they can inform us so we can email a summary version directly to the student. If you child is in Year 8 to 12, they will see a post appear on their Wellbeing Google classroom next week where they can access the resources to do an ‘At home mini SLC’ if desired.

Students can do this independently or with you but are encouraged to share their goals with an adult in their life to help keep them accountable.
