Dear Parents,
NSW Health is coordinating a Pfizer vaccine program for Year 12 students, starting next Monday.
They have requested we supply student mobile phone numbers to allow them to contact students.
Over the coming days, your child will receive a text from NSW Health.
It is important they keep and respond to this text.
Within the text there will be a link which students will need to click that will take them to a site where they will be asked to enter information to register for the vaccine.
Some students may need your help to do this.
Vaccinations will occur at Qudos Bank Arena at Olympic Park from next Monday 9 August until the following Saturday 14 August.
NSW Health have organised buses to transport students to the arena and back.
It is very important students travel to the arena on their scheduled bus, as vaccine appointments have been aligned with bus arrival times. Please do not drive your child to the arena.
Buses will have strong COVID safety protocols in place including limited numbers on the bus (max 20 students on a 50 seater bus), mandatory mask-wearing and chaperones from the PCYC to ensure student safety.
It is my understanding that once students have registered for the vacccine (by responding to the text), they will receive further information about what day and time to catch the bus for their vaccine (I believe they will catch the bus from outside Ambarvale High School, but that needs to be confirmed).
I would strongly encourage you to support your child to be a part of this vaccination program. It will help to keep them, your family and the broader community safe from COVID 19.
