AHS - Aboriginal Education FAQS

How is Ambarvale supporting Aboriginal education during online learning?

  • Online google classroom dedicated to ATSI students. The classroom provides an opportunity for all students to remain in contact, connect to Mr Wright for assistance with classwork and assessments, while also having the ability to access numerous cultural resources while learning from home.

  • Classwork and Assessment assistance through email (kane.wright6@det.nsw.edu.au) and online conference learning - Any student needing assistance with any school related work please feel free to contact Mr Wright via the classroom or email, so a time can be scheduled to assist.

  • Community Engagement (Assistance) - Any families needing assistance throughout this difficult time, please contact the school on 4627 1800, and Mr Wright will be in contact ASAP (As he is working with several community organisations throughout this time to provide support to all students and families/carers).

  • Online cultural classes (Wellbeing tool) to keep students connected to culture while focusing on their positive mental health - This service is available to all students upon request. However, a minimum of 5 students is required to run an online lesson. All students will need access to a laptop or computer with a microphone and camera. Topics can vary from Art, Music, Education, History and more. Additionally, there are numerous resources in the google classroom that may meet your requirements.
  • Online Yarn Circle - Any students wishing to talk about their education, health or situation throughout the online learning period, please contact Mr Wright on the classroom or Email. An online (Video) yarn circle is a great way to stay connected to peers online. The Online Yarn Circle will be available upon request and can include family and friends.

For any further questions or assistance please contact Mr Wright on 4627 1800 or via email on Kane.wright6@det.nsw.edu.au
