Ambarvale High School is very fortunate to have two Student Support Officers (SSO's).
The role of the SSO's is to support students and their families through their time at high school.
This may be done by:
· Working with individuals and small groups of students to develop effective coping skills and positive relationships at school and at home.
· Connecting students and their families with other staff, services and/or community activities and support agencies.
· Organising the delivery of programs and workshops that equip students with positive communication and living skills.
· Developing and implementing anti-bullying initiatives, including cyber bullying and social networking.
· Supporting students transitioning from primary school to high school.
· Promoting positive relationships throughout the school community.
· Educating students and families, and raising awareness about health and wellbeing.
The SSO's are located in A Block and can be contacted Monday - Friday, during school hours.
